Online Databases

The patrons of the seven Barnstable libraries now have access to some great online learning resources, courtesy of a grant from the Kirkman Foundation. To access the database of your choice, click on the link and go to the "New User" login section to create an account. Be sure to record your username and password so you don't forget them!

Family History and Genealogy

Homework & Research

 Learning Express offers the practice tests, exercises, skill-building courses, eBooks, and information you need to achieve the results you want—at school, at work, or in life.

World Book Online is more than just an online encyclopedia. People of all ages can look up thousands of topics and access photographs, newspapers, videos, web tutorials, study assistance and much more.

Looking for magazine and newspaper articles, or information for a homework project? The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and the Massachusetts Library System provide access to a whole host of online databases. If you're working from home, you may need to provide your library card number.

The Cape Cod Times database includes archives from November 1998 to present. You will need your library card number in order to access.

A Boston Public Library ecard is available to any Massachusetts resident free of charge, and allows you access to their online resources.  Click here for more information, and to apply.
